Glazed Free formed "Tapestry" Porcelain Blanks

These original designs are cut or poured from porcelain clay and are glazed on both sides.  I have pressed lace into them to create designs.  When luster is applied, they glisten because of the indentations.  They come with patterns for the faces you see in the drawings.  Pieces may face to the left or right.  If it is important to you that the piece face one way or another, indicate it.   The cats come with 7 faces, no matter the shape you choose, the rabbits come with 3 faces. The cutout pieces: fish, Santa, horses, flying angel and the bunny are as uniform shapes.   All the others are poured and I will send you the general shape you choose, but you take your chances on the size,  Also the cats tails may go to either side.  I do these freehand and cannot make two alike,  Each one is unquestionably an original.

I will send your order right away if I have the pieces on hand.  If I am out of any, which can happen as I have a small kiln and can make up only so many at a time, it could take a couple of weeks to get them to you.

GRAB BAG

For the adventurous. Assortment of fancy freeforms that you can use for jewelry, ornaments, wall hangings. Try personalizing commercial china by fusing them to the china with E-Z Structure, or
glue them on. These pieces are mostly openwork freeforms.. some very delicate. I pour to Mozart and get carried away! You'll like these...
Grab Bag IdeasHere is an idea for the grabbag pieces.  Use a tapestry openwork for the back and mount a solid piece, either tapestry or plain on the front.  Fire each one separately, they use adhesive to glue them together.  If you indicate that you want to use them in this manner, I will choose pieces that will go together.  Be sure you tell me if you want the solid piece to be textured or smooth.

ONCE YOU CHOOSE SOME FREEFORMS, HERE ARE SOME SUGGESTIONS FOR USING OR DISPLAYING THEM.

If you are going to make a pin, use a tie tack.. NOT a bar pin or the piece could break when you close it. They can be hung with a gold thread or ribbon glued to the back. They can be framed, mounted on velvet or other material... glue the material to cardboard. And some can be made into pendants. When gluing findings onto a piece, use either E 6000 or another strong adhesive.

If you want to buy finished pieces of any of the above, please contact me for details and prices.

For your convenience I can supply the following findings if you cannot find them in your local craft store.

TIE TACK...35 cents each.

FILIGREE 3 LEAF CAP....40 cents each

BEAVER TAIL ...10 cents each.. This is a flat oval with a loop on the top. You glue the oval to the piece with the loop extending for hanging.

JUMP RINGS...2 for 5 cents.. You need these if making a pendant.

FREEFORMS YOU CAN MAKE
SO EASY -- SUCH FUN -- FEW MATERIALS OR SPACE NEEDED
MAKE THEM WITH PORCELAIN OR CERAMIC SLIP

FREEFORMS, START TO FINISH is a manual that takes you step by step through the fun of making freeforms, decorating them and displaying and using them. You have a choice of an angel or dove, blank or finished or both that is included with the manual. There are two pages of patterns, one for designs you pour, and one for designs you cut from scraps or a block of clay. Another page which gets you started with a simple angel pattern. Also a step by step pattern for a dove and a Victorian angel. A colored page of 14 freeforms you can make. Penwork sketches of castles and little things. This 16 page slide bound manual allows you to use the pages separately and is loaded with easy to follow information. Both kits are the same except for the freeforms, which determine the price. The materials you need are few and inexpensive. You will need a plaster of Paris slab, which you can make or buy from a pottery shop: you also need liquid slip and clear glaze. The rest of the things you probably already have. You do not have to use porcelain. If your kiln will not fire to cone 6, you can use ceramic slip that fires to cone 05 and get the same results. Once they are glazed they look alike. Freeforms are fun to make, and when you get started you may get hooked like I have. There just seems to be no end of the things you can create. The freeform that comes with your manual will help you to determine how yours should look. Actually having a piece as a guide is better than a thousand words... but you'll get all the words also. This is a nice addition to my Fantasy video which shows me making the freeforms.
