All tools, no drawing skills required

TIP: WATCH OUT for those SNEAKY LEAKS, use MAGNIFIER to locate. To AVOID LEAKS Using RECTANGLE tool....it is best to FRAME the area where you intend to do your painting.

Click at the upper left corner of the viewing area on the screen & DRAG diagonally across to lower right corner, RELEASE. You now have a FRAME in which to paint.

START STRAIGHT LINES OUTSIDE THIS FRAME & CONTINUE PAST THE OTHER SIDE. Select LINE tool, create/draw your horizon line about 1/3 of the way from the top or the bottom. You will either have more sky or more water, depending on where this horizon line is placed.

SUN: select ELLIPSE tool... DO NOT begin at the CENTER of your painting

TIP: the higher above the horizon line you start the SUN, the larger it will become.

Click & DRAG TO THE LOWER RIGHT until your tool has formed a circle, then RELEASE.
With FILL with COLOR tool, choose SUN COLOR, , click inside circle. MAGIC happens.!!!!!

Above you the SKY is the DARKEST. It lightens as you look toward the horizon line. Check this.
Select the DARKEST sky color you plan to use.
Select LINE tool, draw a slightly diagonal line below the top of the painting, beginning outside, and ending outside the FRAME. Using a VARIETY of ANGLES, REPEAT with more lines of lighter & lighter sky colors toward the horizon line. Let lines cross sun, later use ERASER tool.

WATER: using the same tool, REVERSE the COLOR ORDER** & create lines across the water area (**from lightest to darkest ).

Use PICK COLOR tool to easily select appropriate colors.

Select FILL with COLOR (PAINT BUCKET), go to the DARKEST sky color area. CLICK INSIDE. (That area, if there are no leaks, will fill with the chosen color…as if by MAGIC)

REPEAT with FILL IN ALL SKY & WATER AREAS.

TIME TO THINK: SKY, DARK to lightest the horizon line WATER, LIGHTEST at horizon line to DARK.

SUN: AIRBRUSH tool, select WHITE. Spray OFF CENTER, an area of white
Select ORANGE, spray with SHORT CURVED STROKES in the lower RIGHT area of the sun, covering somewhat about ˝ the right lower area of the sun
REPEAT, ONLY LESS, choosing DEEP RED this time. FIRE ENGINE RED this time. & finally BRIGHT PINK.

TIP: ALL THE SUN COLORS CAN BE USED IN THE REFLECTIONS PLUS WHITE.

TIP: to know where sun’s reflection belongs Select LINE tool, using LIGHTEST sky color, BEGIN where SUN is CLOSEST to horizon, draw line, at an angle, toward your left, to the shore area. Draw another, but at a different angle, toward your right. Later MAGNIFIER tool, can remove any lines still visible.

SKY: use AIRBRUSH tool, (explore all three sprays) to SOFTEN the lines at the edges of each color change.

TIP: try using both colors to get away from a straight line, make them irregular.

REPEAT till all SKY COLORS are blended/softened/changed.

CLOUDS: ELLIPSE tool, select WHITE. Form 3 different sized ellipses that overlap each other.

Select AIRBRUSH tool. SPRAY to ELIMINATE all the WHITE LINES of those ELLIPSES.

WITH the SAME TOOL & COLOR, spray “SUGGESTIONS” OF CLOUDS in the water. These will become the REFLECTIONS & will be LESS than the area they cover in the sky.

WATER/RIPPLES/REFLECTIONS: begin with SUN COLORS. Create a VARIETY of lines in a variety of colors. Use light water colors in dark areas. Use dark water colors in light areas then last, select ERASER tool to clean up edges, make adjustments, etc.

HAVE FUN WITH THIS. I’d love to see where you go with my directions in using “PAINT.”
