This is similar to how quilters make free form quilts. go to: Google.com and type in Judy Dales Quilt It will take you to her website. This is how she turns geometric quilt patterns into beautiful freeform quilts.

1. Draw an offset Christian cross. (Has two long lines and 2 short)
2. Intersect where they cross each other with another line that "Does not touch" the outside rim of the piece. It should be at least 1 or 2 inches from the edge.
3. Make a line straight across the previous line to make a perfect christian cross.
4. Draw a curved line from the edge and going to the bottom of the perfect cross.
5. Divide the long line that goes across the piece into 3rds. Notice the 2 dots.
6. Place a curve from the right arm of the perfect cross to the dot furthest from where all the lines cross.
