CLOCK

by Elinor Skiles

The method used for doing this plate clock was putting colors on the plate and then ,with a wipe out tool ,draw in the flowers over the wet paint, making the petals wavy and the main leaves where you want them.

Then take a synthetic brush and pull out the petals working from the outside of the petal to the center.

Put in the main leaves (more can be added on a second fire). Making the leaves look like they are waving in the breeze.

I used

  • Light Fire Rose
  • Light Violet
  • Mixing Yellow
  • Orange Yellow
  • Chartreuse
  • Moss Green
I used Dark Green on the second fire and for the shadow leaves. Using the wipe out tool gives you a lot of freedom for shaping the flowers and giving them motion.

The numbers on the clock were the stickum kind , but I would rather have the gold you fire on.
