Butterfly necklace

by Marci Blattenberger

Start with a laser cut resist butterfly . ( available through me ... marci@ppio.com ) The laser cutting gives them a very delicate look .

They already have glue on them .. so just peel them off the backing paper and apply to the china.
Make sure they are stuck down well

Pounce over the laser cut with paint from your palette. I used black paint.

Take a paper towel and wipe off every trace of te paint. You dont want to leave any paint showing on the china.

Using a pin or needle tool , pull up the sticker carefully . You will have a "penwork" outline of the butterfly remaining.

You can stick the butterfly laser cut onto a foil covered piece of cardboard to use again. The glue is good for several sticks .. and hten after that you can use spray glue.

Cover the body of the butterfly , a few of the wing areas and the edge of the piece with Liquid Bright Gold.

Cover the wings with orange luster and the background with Mother of Pearl or Mardi Gras.( Its difficult to capture the look of the Mardi Gras with a carmera)
