I used luster sheets on the outside .(Note from Marci: luster sheets are lusters in a decal format that you cut to size , soak in water, slide onto the china and then fire. This could also be done with regular bottled lusters.)
I then outlined them with gold. I used American Beauty for the dress and a variety of blues for the sky. I did the stars on the outside with my pen. I also forgot to tell you that I used Rainbow Luster on the wings and shaded the horn with Rich brown.

This is how the angel was done. Pen the angel on the plate, using black green with an extra fine nib. I used a iris/lilac luster sheet to punch out the snow flakes. They were applied to the plate and then it was fired to 016. Colors used on the angel were blond flesh with warm shadow for the shading on the face and hands.
The dress was painted with Rosa and American Beauty. The sky was painted with banding blue, forget me-knot blue and midnight blue. You can use any of the blues that you have on your palette. Be sure and wipe out good highlights for the clouds. You will want to fire again at 016. I used Rainbow luster for the wings again firing at 016. I outlined the snow flakes with gold and penned in the little stars.
